Jacqueline's Needs

Jacqueline Canuto is a busy wife and mother. She first read about Techni-Ice through My Mom-Friday's review of the product. She immediately got interested but due to other priorities, she had to forego buying Techni-Ice.

Recently, she has not been feeling well. Migraine have been bothering her and how she wished she has the handy Techni-Ice to make her feel better. Aside from soothing her pain, she says, if she has Techni-Ice with her, she can use it during family trips, groceries, and transporting vaccines for their clinic.

"Onto a lighter note, headache is not just the reason why I wanted to have Techni-Ice also because I learned it can be used in many ways and it can be used hot or cold!"

This is Jackie's entry of the Techni-Ice Your Own Way Blog Contest. To read the complete post, please visit her blog now.

Juvy's 9 Ways

Juvy Judith went backpacking with her friend a few years ago. During that time, she had terrible stomach cramps. No hot packs were in sight to help alleviate the pain. Had she discovered Techni-Ice at that time, she could've prevented humiliation.

Upon reading information about Techni-Ice, she has discovered various ways on where it can be applied. She listed down 9 ways where Techni-Ice would be beneficial for her:

"1. As part of my first-aid kit, every time I travel abroad or around the country.
2. At home to soothe my tired muscle after work.
3. As part of my lunch bag to keep my food warm.
4. As ice pack after joining a 10K fun run or just after work-out.
5. In the cooler during company outings to preserve perishable foods.
6. In the cooler when I am camping at Mt. Pulag with my friends.
7. In the cooler when I am at the beach with my family.
8. As a gift to my mom for her food business.
9. As a gift to my dad to store his catch when he goes fishing."

Daba-Daba Ikaduha: The Event

On a previous post, we mentioned that Techni-Ice will participate in this year's Daba-Daba Ikaduha: Ultimate Frisbee Tournament at Davao Crocodile Park.

With speed, agility, teamwork and good strategy, our sponsored team, JUAN CDO of Cagayan de Oro City got themselves medals at the tournament as Pool B champions.

At rest, the team also used Techni-Ice sheets as cold packs to relieve their worked-out muscles of pain and knots. It also helped them cool down as the weather was burning that day.

The Techni-Ice team also set up a booth where we explained the various uses of Techni-Ice to the spectators and players.

The entire tournament was a blast for the both players and the sponsors. Techni-Ice advocates sports, health and fitness. And wherever there are active people, there is Techni-Ice.

The RICE Method

I love running. I run 3-4 times a week. It keeps me relaxed and energized after a long day's work. However, there were times when I would overdo it and get myself injured. This is not good especially when I'm taking care of a husband and two very active kids. And, a very demanding work, as well.

Through the internet, I have read about the RICE method. It stands for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. By following the Rice method, I have prevented injuries and speed-up my recovery.

When I can feel swelling in my muscles, I also take anti-inflammatory medication, like aspirin or ibuprofen, and  I take a day or two from running. I would never risk a secondary injury.

The Rice method is a simple guide in keeping me healthy and injury free after a good run. Techni-Ice has aided in the I and C department of the method: Ice and Compression.

Before I run, I make sure I have Techni-Ice in the freezer for cold compress or a hydrated sheet that's ready for the microwave just in case I need a hot compress. It's always better to be prepared.

Check back next week for another Fitness and Health tips and advice.

- Ellen
