Goodbye, Fever. Thank you,Techni-Ice

It's monsoon season here in the Philippines. This would still last for a few more months. With such erratic  and dangerous weather, we always have to bring protection, like umbrellas, boots, or raincoats whenever we go out. No matter how careful we are though, it seems like fever, at one point or another, is inevitable.

While you keep yourself protected when you go out of your house, it is also important that you have a medicine-kit handy, just in case fever will strike. So you have your medicines and thermometer, but what about your Techni-Ice sheets?

Applying a cold compress directly over the forehead or the nape of the neck is very effective in breaking a fever. The best cold compress material is, of course, Techni-Ice.

Unlike gel packs that could get easily get stiff when frozen, Techni-Ice is flexible. It could easily be wrapped or shaped for better area coverage. Also, Techni-Ice is non-toxic so you're assured that no hazardous material will come in close contact with your skin.

More importantly, Techni-Ice is versatile. It is not limited to cold compress use only. It can be used to replace dry and wet ice for camping, food transportation, beach outing, and many more.

A single Techni-Ice sheet is comprised of 24 cells. We recommend it cut into 12 cells so one can be used for hot compress and the other half could be used for cold compress.

Juvy's 9 Ways

Juvy Judith went backpacking with her friend a few years ago. During that time, she had terrible stomach cramps. No hot packs were in sight to help alleviate the pain. Had she discovered Techni-Ice at that time, she could've prevented humiliation.

Upon reading information about Techni-Ice, she has discovered various ways on where it can be applied. She listed down 9 ways where Techni-Ice would be beneficial for her:

"1. As part of my first-aid kit, every time I travel abroad or around the country.
2. At home to soothe my tired muscle after work.
3. As part of my lunch bag to keep my food warm.
4. As ice pack after joining a 10K fun run or just after work-out.
5. In the cooler during company outings to preserve perishable foods.
6. In the cooler when I am camping at Mt. Pulag with my friends.
7. In the cooler when I am at the beach with my family.
8. As a gift to my mom for her food business.
9. As a gift to my dad to store his catch when he goes fishing."

This is Juvy's entry to the Techni-Ice Your Own Way Blog Contest. To read the full post, go to her blog now.

Back to School Must-Have

Cut Techni-Ice sheets prior to hydration
I'm sure you are all aware how Techni-Ice is very useful when it comes to food transport. Whether it's hot or cold, Techni-Ice is capable of maintaining the temperature of the item, making it ideal for fast-food deliveries and out-of-town trips.

Another school year is fast approaching. The Techni-Ice sheets I used during my family's beach outings will now be used to keep their lunch warm.

Techni-Ice can be cut into smaller sizes, depending on where and how you are going to use it. For my kids' lunch bags, I would need six cells of Techni-Ice only.

The hydrated Techni-Ice sheets will be heated in the microwave for 2-3 minutes. After heating, the cut sheets will be placed inside an insulated bag then the lunch pack. With this, I am assured that my kids' food will still be warm (or cold for drinks) for lunch.

Sometimes, I like to change things up. I would put the sheets above the the lunch pack or use two sheets to cover the entire lunch pack. Either way, my kids are happily eating their still-warm food.

The RICE Method

I love running. I run 3-4 times a week. It keeps me relaxed and energized after a long day's work. However, there were times when I would overdo it and get myself injured. This is not good especially when I'm taking care of a husband and two very active kids. And, a very demanding work, as well.

Through the internet, I have read about the RICE method. It stands for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation. By following the Rice method, I have prevented injuries and speed-up my recovery.

When I can feel swelling in my muscles, I also take anti-inflammatory medication, like aspirin or ibuprofen, and  I take a day or two from running. I would never risk a secondary injury.

The Rice method is a simple guide in keeping me healthy and injury free after a good run. Techni-Ice has aided in the I and C department of the method: Ice and Compression.

Before I run, I make sure I have Techni-Ice in the freezer for cold compress or a hydrated sheet that's ready for the microwave just in case I need a hot compress. It's always better to be prepared.

Check back next week for another Fitness and Health tips and advice.

Techni-Ice, the number 1 replacement for dry and wet ice in the market, is very easy to use than expected.

The video above will show the easy steps to hydrate the flat sheet and its different applications.

Hydration of the sheets will not take more than 5 minutes and once hydrated, it is now ready for use - either hot or cold, it's your choice.
